A nationally recognized nonprofit executive, consultant, educator, and arts and cultural policy leader, Marete has built a career helping organizations align strategy, resources, and stakeholders to achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes. Her expertise spans executive leadership, strategic planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, program and portfolio management, public policy, and complex cross-sector partnerships.
Throughout her career, Marete has led organizations, managed major initiatives, and overseen complex programs requiring strong financial stewardship, procurement oversight, governance, and accountability. Among her most significant accomplishments was helping establish the National Initiative for Arts & Health Across the Military and managing a $15 million federal partnership supporting the expansion of Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network. Working in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs and a network of state and local partners across the country, she helped advance the integration of the arts and creative arts therapies into the care and well-being of military service members, veterans, and their families. This work required rigorous contract management, stakeholder coordination, performance measurement, and responsible stewardship of public resources while delivering measurable outcomes at a national scale.
