Dr Simon Conroy is a Principal Consultant with ERA Group, helping CEOs and CFOs improve costs, strengthen operations and deliver sustainable financial outcomes.
Simon brings more than 25 years of senior leadership and commercial experience across financial services, investment management, corporate finance, operations and business transformation in Australia and Asia.
Throughout his career, Simon has worked in complex, highly regulated organisations where commercial performance must be balanced with governance, risk management, customer outcomes and long-term organisational capability.
As Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Atrium Investment Management, Simon worked alongside the Chief Investment Officer and was accountable to the Board, regulators and Board committees. He provided strategic and operational leadership across business strategy, operating model development, budgeting, forecasting, commercial negotiations, pricing, risk, technology and organisational capability.
Simon also spent more than a decade with Macquarie Group in senior investment, strategy and product leadership roles. His responsibilities included private markets investment, portfolio construction, investment strategy, product development and the management of complex stakeholder relationships across Australia and Asia.
His career has included leading enterprise-wide transformation programs, redesigning operating models, implementing business-critical technology platforms and establishing complex outsourcing and supplier partnerships. He has also modernised management reporting and business intelligence capabilities, strengthened commercial decision-making and delivered initiatives designed to improve efficiency, profitability and client experience.
Today, as a Principal Consultant with ERA Group, Simon works peer-to-peer with CEOs, CFOs and senior executives to identify and deliver cost and process improvement opportunities.
He combines an executive operator’s perspective with ERA Group’s global benchmarking, category expertise and structured implementation methodology. This enables clients to assess expenditure objectively, strengthen supplier arrangements, improve internal processes and realise measurable savings without compromising service quality, governance or operational resilience.
Simon is particularly effective in organisations where cost optimisation requires careful stakeholder management, disciplined implementation and a clear understanding of commercial, operational and regulatory risk.
