Unity Care Northwest will save $1M over three years on operating expenses after partnering with ERA Group.
Unity Care North West (UCNW), a Federally Qualified Health centre serving the Bellingham, Washington area, contacted ERA to explore opportunities to reduce costs and improve operating margins. ERA's specialists utilised a holistic approach to evaluate all non-labour-related expenses at the organisation – identifying ten areas for potential savings.
Savings were found across insurance, dental supplies, janitorial services, IT hardware costs, office supplies, and medical supplies. The largest savings were found in employee health benefits costs.
utilising the savings generated from the employee health benefits project, UCNW has dramatically reduced employee contributions to their health plan. Leaders hope utilising the savings in this way will reduce the employee burden, improve employee retention, and assist with recruiting new employees in a competitive market.
