Founded in 1967, Oscar Medtec is one of Sweden’s leading suppliers of examination furniture, pharmaceutical refrigerators, and physiotherapy products for healthcare facilities, pharmacies, and schools. As part of a proactive approach to continuous improvement, the company engaged ERA Group to review its cost base and identify opportunities to increase efficiency while maintaining its high standards of service and operational performance.
Following a detailed analysis of spending across several categories, logistics was identified as the area with the greatest potential for savings. ERA Group conducted a comprehensive review of Oscar Medtec’s freight requirements, supplier arrangements, and market options, ultimately negotiating an improved agreement with the company’s existing logistics provider.
The new contract delivered fixed freight pricing for 21 months, providing both immediate cost reductions and protection against future price increases. Over a 24-month period, Oscar Medtec achieved savings of SEK 830,624 and reduced domestic freight costs by 21.2%, while maintaining supplier continuity, gaining pricing stability, and benefiting from ongoing invoice monitoring and support from ERA Group.
